Job Position: Compliance Governance Assistant Manager/Senior Specialist

Function: SERS capability – R&D

Reports to:  Compliance Governance manager

Scope: Product Compliance Governance

Location: Mumbai HURC

Business Context and Main Purpose of the Job

The SERS capability provides safety, sustainability, and regulatory expertise to support the commercialization of new, higher-risk technologies while ensuring product safety and compliance. Within SERS, the Compliance Governance subgroup focuses on designing and strengthening the product compliance framework, implementing future-ready governance practices, monitoring adherence to policies, and managing product risks effectively across Unilever.

SERS = Safety , Environmental and Regulatory science.

Main accountabilities:

Key Responsibilities:

Compliance Governance Framework Development:

  • Design, implement, and maintain Unilever's product regulatory compliance governance framework.

Risk Assessment and Management:

  • Conduct regular regulatory risk assessments to identify and mitigate compliance risks related to processes and products.

  • Develop mechanisms for monitoring and reporting on compliance risks.

Training and Awareness:

  • Design and deliver compliance training programs for employees and management to promote a culture of compliance.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records of compliance activities, including investigations, audits, and risk assessments.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the SERS and Business groups R&D to ensure a cohesive approach to compliance and governance.

To be considered for this role, you must be holder of University Degree in science/pharmacy/biochemistry.

  • 4-5 years in FMCG or multinational companies.

  • 4-5 years in Regulatory or R&D role.

  • 1-2 years experience in a similar role.

  • You must also be fluent in both written English.
