The Associate Director, Measurement and Analytics will act as the primary subject matter expert and leads efforts across research, insights, measurement, and data management as a leader of Personal Care’s Media and Marketing Capability (M&MC) team. You will shape Personal Care’s measurement vision, identifying new cutting-edge tools to sharpen measurement of ROI and identify insights that drive performance and enable optimization of Unilever’s investments.

This Associate Director will closely align with and advise key internal stakeholders as well as outside business partners to maximize the use of media and marketing analytics in support of the commercial Personal Care business. This is a high visibility role with exposure to senior leadership and meaningful contribution to the Personal Care strategy and Unilever’s new Culture at Scale engagement model. 

WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE

  • Manage an experienced Measurement and Analytics Associate and work with Digital Marketing experts

  • Report into Chief Media and Marketing Capability Officer and sit on M&MC leadership team

  • Own design and refinement of the M&MC Measurement framework including Fast Signals and Rapid ROI, including development of new tools and performance practices

  • Own stakeholder reporting of media investment performance and competitive spend analysis to key stakeholders

  • Own development of measurable KPIs for goal setting and learning agendas 

  • Analyze Rapid ROI data to generate insights, articulate them clearly by telling a story and identify the ‘so what’ to drive media optimization

  • Support and collaborate with Personal Care marketing colleagues and agencies as expert on measurement and insights

  • Own all insights and measurement around Social First

  • Operate as a leader within the M&MC team on the strategy, planning, analysis, and execution of key projects, including custom consumer insights, brand and partnership studies, and cross-channel media measurement projects

  • Collaborate with Data & Analytics (D&A) to drive automation of data input and data output (data input – automation of data for modeling; data output – dashboards, visualization, automation of insights through GenAI development, etc)

  • Lead partner research and measurement initiatives across Marketing & Media, acting as a strategy consultant in support of partner management, business development, and media teams to proactively identify opportunities and needs 

  • Serve as the primary internal point of contact for knowledge and guidance around trends in consumer research, media measurement and industry intelligence, resources, and capabilities 

  • Manage relationships with research, media and influencer agencies

  • Identify opportunities to expand capabilities through exploring new vendors, methodologies, and tools/resources 

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED

Experiences & Qualifications

General Requirements

  • 10 or more combined years of experience in any of the following areas: consumer insights, market research, data analytics, media analytics

  • Bachelor’s degree required

Skills

Analytical Skills

  • Proficient with MS Word and PowerPoint. Skilled with Excel

  • Exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Strong ability to make sense of large amounts of data and package insights from both syndicated and primary data resources

  • Ability to learn new tools quickly and often independently with minimal formal training 

Communication and project management

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills with ability to convert complex findings into insightful, concise, and easily digestible e-mails, reports and presentations 

  • Must have strong organizational skills and be detail- and process-oriented

  • Ability to manage research & measurement budget and prioritize projects based on team and partner needs 

Data Skills

  • Experience handling and joining large data sets for displaying via a data visualization tool (like DOMO, PowerBI) is a major plus

  • SQL and other coding experience is preferred

Pay: The pay range for this position is $138,900 to $208,300. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.

Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.

Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
