JOB PURPOSE:
As a key member of the Out-of-Home leadership team in the Ice Cream business, the Key Account Associate Director is responsible for all activities associated with developing and growing the total Ice Cream business in key Out of Home Channels – Convenience, Drug, and Value. This position will lead a team of 4 direct reports. The leader will cross-functionally manage shopper insights, category management, shopper marketing, ecommerce, supply chain and deduction management. The position will require excellent customer skills, as the commercial leader this person will manage all aspects of the commercial plan for the Out of Home business. In addition, this team leader will require excellent communication and negotiation skills with key strategic customers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Associate Director will be responsible for the development and execution of the ~$250mm+ annual volume growth targets. The director will be responsible for working with the OOH Business Development Team and CSP teams to ensure the plans are resourced appropriately and the spending and volume are synchronized to deliver the Joint Business Plans.
Finally, the Associate Director will be responsible for the operational aspects of this team including forecasting, trade investment productivity, deduction management, and supply chain compliance.
- Deliver volume, trade investment, and sales contribution cross channels
- Build a multi-year, strategic joint business plan with the key customers
- Manage a team, delivering the individual and collective success required of the team
- Identify trade spend efficiencies, opportunities and risks
- Review plans to ensure integrity and risks are reflected
- Raise up all opportunities for growth through the proper channels
- Develop customer and category specific Trade Plans that achieve growth targets
- Recommend alternative business strategies to help drive volume & efficiencies
- Deliver operational objectives including forecast accuracy and deduction levels
- Coordinate promotion and new item activities with OOH BD Team and CSP
- Communicate all customer, market issues, activities, opportunities, and risks
- Develop corporate marketing and merchandising programs
- Coordinate, and manage, Category Management initiatives
- Build relationships with various strategic customers and key stakeholders
- This commercial leader must develop and challenge the team to deliver sustainable growth in OOH
- Implement and maintain National programs on the local/regional level, with assistance from the OOH Region Managers.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Minimum 10 years of related Sales, Category Management, and Trade Marketing experience. Out of Home experience a plus.
- DSD experience highly preferred
- Strong planning, communication and analytical skills
- Experience in Customer planning and creation
- Financial Acumen
- Skilled in verbal & written communications to work with the Key Account’s Leadership Team, Business Development Team, and CSP and Brand Team
- Multitask problem solving and project management with numerous support groups. Delivery of growth initiatives.
- Must establish and maintain effective relationships with customers and peers.
- Proven Business Manager experience with a key customer is a must
- Proven Leader of People
- Trade Marketing and Category Management experience is a plus
- Must have strong relationship building and management skills
- Working knowledge of Circana (IRI), Evergreen, FSP data, Loyalty Card Data and Customer POS Data is strongly desired

Pay: The pay range for this position is $135,600 to $203,300. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.
Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.
Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
