Dove Deodorant is a key growth driver for the entire personal care category at Unilever.  We’re looking for an Associate Brand Manager to lead key innovation development activities & support a Global Brand Manager in the development and execution of innovation and advertising communication projects for the U.S. This position offers a great opportunity to demonstrate independent leadership and clearly ownable deliverables. 

JOB PURPOSE

WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE

  • Manage delivery of full marketing mix for innovation projects from initial concept stage to launch. 
  • Collaborate with the consumer insights and category strategy teams to identify white spaces/disruptive opportunities for the brand. 
  • Develop concepts to test with consumers, partner with local marketing team and finance to develop business cases, manage artwork development, collaborate with global leads to develop campaign assets across activation channels (paid, earned, in-store, etc.), and ensure all U.S. market needs are met to execute flawless launches.  
  • Lead cross-functional teams to deliver project inputs under tight timelines.  Act at the key point of contact for driving project networks with regional/local cross-functional teams to ensure on-time-in-full deployment of projects.  
  • Lead development of communication and engagement assets to ensure a winning launch plan with US consumers to support key innovation mixes.  
  • Lead trade story development and tracking the performance of key launches in market in partnership with the local performance and sales teams. 

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED

Experiences & Qualifications

  • 3 + years of relevant branding/marketing experience with MBA preferred 
  • Experience in innovation project management & deployment 
  • A passionate crafter, that doesn’t compromise in the delivery of superior, delightful mixes even in high pressure circumstances; able to mobilize teams to deliver to this vision.  
  • Sense of Aesthetics, eye to detail and pride in delivering high-quality work and not settling for “good enough”.    
  • External focus, aware of what is happening in culture and planet beyond your job spec.   
  • A healthy obsession with pleasing consumers and a fascination for the products we sell – the formulations, science, fragrance, sensorials, look and feel. You understand how our products compare to competitors and are committed to unmissable superiority.  
  • Highly intuitive with strong storytelling ability; you are able to spot issues & opportunities and know how to frame messages in a simple and compelling way. 
  • Strong digital/social & consumer engagement awareness are key to this role as part of crafting the step-change in communication. 
  • Project Management skills. Experience in leading cross-functional teams and agencies to deliver projects OTIF.

KEY INTERFACES:

  • Cross Functional Team: Manage cross functional team including R&D, CMI, Finance, Supply Chain, to ensure the timely delivery of innovation mix and strategy 
  • Creative/Design agency, Media agency and other 3rd party suppliers: Manage 3rd party partners and inspire them to deliver breakthrough ideas/concepts that support the innovation strategy 
  • Local Marketing Teams: Seek input on project scope and expectation. Get information to analyze business performance and identify potential growth opportunities. 
  • Other Global Brand Team members: Align projects to total brand strategy; ensure Masterbrand & category semiotics and guidelines are adhered to.  Parts of the work involve interaction with Dove other global categories (skin, hair) and other brands in same deodorant category (Degree, Axe, Schmidts) to get cross category learnings

Pay: The pay range for this position is $86,080 to $129,120. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs. 

Bonus: This position is bonus eligible. 

Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
