ABOUT THE ROLE

Responsible for developing and executing sustainability strategies focused on decarbonization, waste reduction, and social responsibility. This role leads the decarbonization agenda and coordinates cross-functional teams for effective implementation across markets. Key responsibilities include, corporate sustainability report, strategic budget planning, project oversight, senior leadership communication to support informed decision-making and resource allocation for sustainability commitments.

WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE

Global Logistics Strategy:

  • Develop and execute a 10-year logistics sustainability strategy, including warehouse and transport, while formulating pillars and long-term strategies focusing on decarbonization, social, and waste agendas.

  • Define and implement minimal sustainability standards including energy (LEED-related), water, waste reduction, and wellbeing.

  • Manage the preparation and organization of a community of practice for teams worldwide to exchange best practices and invite external industry experts.

Decarbonization Roadmap Leadership:

  • Lead the creation of comprehensive decarbonization roadmaps across regions with cross-functional teams over a 5+ year horizon.

  • Guide and co-create decarbonization plans, support clean energy technology pilots, and provide the training to the teams to guarantee a proper knowledge transfer

  • Provide support for Capex/Opex project formulation to define decarbonization budgets.

  • Present plans to top management, offering strategic advice on priorities and resource allocation.

  • Establish sustainability governance to ensure alignment across teams (Sustainability, Finance, Operations, Procurement).

Annual Logistics Results:

  • Responsibility over the consolidation and preparation of the company's annual logistics results in compliance with GLEC framework standard and ESRS adherence. Also, serving as the central contact for the broader sustainability team, the role involves active participation and leading discussions on environmental sustainability topics within the logistics domain.

  • GLEC Methodology implementation: Assurance of the right implementation of the Global Logistics Emissions Council (GLEC) methodology to guarantee the adherence to the framework used to calculate the carbon emissions for logistics

  • Internal guidance / training on the methodology, calculation tools, and reporting standards for the global report, used externally as a part of company results.

  • Implementation of technological solutions related to the sustainability report process like EPR, TKBlue among others.

Sustainability Partnership Program:

  • Direct and promote a global sustainability partnership program with the procurement team to scale up green fuel solutions.

  • Foster collaborations with fuel suppliers, OEMs, and green technology companies.

External Representation:

  • Represent the company in external forums and coalitions (e.g., GLEC, Alice, Hydrogen Europe) to facilitate emission reduction efforts.

  • Communicate externally on behalf of the logistics team to highlight sustainability agenda progress.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED

Experiences & Qualifications

  • Master degree, preferably in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business

  • 6+ years of experience within logistics of which 3+ managing sustainability projects/ initiatives

  • Knowledge of sustainability standards and operational requirements

  • Knowledge of energy and carbon schemes and sustainability reporting

  • Strong coaching, influencing, and communication skills

  • Attention to detail and ability to analyze data 

  • Collaborative and proactive engagement approach

  • Experience presenting to teams and senior leadership
