If you are in the Unilever Ice Cream business or are considering working for the Unilever ice Cream business, you will work for the global, leading Ice Cream player with €8bn Turn Over in 2023. The Ice Cream business is operating in a highly attractive category, as we are part of the 1 trillion snacking and refreshment industry, growing consistently at high pace. We have strong brands equities: 5 of the top 10 selling brands including Wall’s, Magnum, Ben &Jerry’s. We are investing to unlock the full growth potential of Ice Cream as a standalone entity, once we separate from Unilever, which is planned to happen by November 2025. The newly created IC Financial Control Team is a core part of the central IC Finance team. This team is responsible for Ice Cream’s external financial reporting and global financial reporting controls (including Sarbanes Oxley compliance), managing the global auditor relationship; determining and implementing Ice Creams accounting policies; and many other projects related to how Ice Cream measures its performance and presents and communicates this to the external world. They are responsible for the collection of the monthly management result, the monthly financial results as well as the collection process for the forecast.

As the Reporting, Accounting and Training Expertise Assistant Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the historic separation of our Ice Cream business from Unilever, guiding it to become a standalone organization. WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE?
Policy Management: Support maintenance of global accounting policies, ensuring compliance with IFRS and other relevant standards.
Reporting: Support quarterly press releases completion and project management for yearly completion of the Group’s Annual Report and Accounts ensuring consistency, compliance and timeline.
Guidance and Training: Provide timely guidance on accounting implications of business decisions and deliver training through various mediums (e-learning, guides, live meetings).
Compliance and Advocacy: Track the assessment of change impact to IFRS, advocate for the company with standard setters, and ensure internal compliance.
Knowledge Management: Implementation of a strategy to support ongoing accounting and reporting knowledge within the finance community.
External Developments: Review and respond to external GAAP, controls, and reporting developments, and lobby on potential changes.
Technical Leadership: Support on compliance with IFRS, UK, Dutch, and US GAAP, and engage with external auditors on upcoming accounting developments.
Internal Advice: Support on any accounting advice, maintain a tracker of key issues, and ensure accurate application of accounting standards.
Digital Transformation: Implementation of relevant tools to improve accessibility to Accounting Expertise documents/Accounting Policy Portal.
Ad Hoc Projects: Handle ad hoc tasks related to acquisition accounting, legal entity reorganizations, and compliance with company law.
EXPERIENCE YOU SHOULD HAVE/THE QUALITIES WE LOOK FOR
Experiences & Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., ACCA, ACA, CPA) is preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with a focus on policy management and training.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations.
Excellent communication and training skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in accounting software and tools
