Our Graduate Program

The Unilever Future Leaders Programme (UFLP) is a global initiative enabling Unilever to build a strong talent pipeline that will support and lead our business growth.  UFLP is a 36-month rotational leadership development program for which we recruit top-performing undergraduate talent who demonstrate the potential to become managers within our business within 3 years.  It’s designed to grow you into a manager, through hands-on learning alongside world-class experts. You’ll be hired into a function and develop your leadership skills by working on live projects which offer you all the experience you need to become ready for your first management role.  At the heart of it, it’s about developing tomorrow’s leaders, today.

What will the programme involve?

During the programme you'll get to undertake placements in both Sales and Marketing divisions. In Sales, you’ll build partnerships with a wide range of our customers, which can include distributors, supermarkets, convenience stores, and even e-commerce. This will help us reach our target markets, which could mean working together to maximize a new product launch, recommending the right range of products or negotiating an annual business plan.

The programme includes 3 rotations of 12 months each, including time spent in the following areas:

  • Chef de Secteur/Field Sales Specialist (mandatory to understand the roots of our industry)

  • Category Manager

  • Key Account Manager (retail, e-commerce…)

  • Product Manager

Who are we looking for?

No specific degree background is required, as this is an area where your personality will set you apart. Candidates must be fluent in both French and English, and should be either fresh graduates or professionals with no more than two years of experience. A valid French driving license is mandatory.

The role requires a unique combination of ambition, strong interpersonal skills, and commercial acumen. You should be credible and confident when interacting with others, with a clear passion for growing businesses and the ability to influence and negotiate effectively. We are looking for individuals who demonstrate strong logical thinking, ambition, as well as solid organizational and analytical capabilities, coupled with a good head for figures.

In addition, flexibility regarding location is essential, as rotations throughout the program may take place across different areas.

At Unilever, you will find limitless opportunities within a highly engaging and innovative entrepreneurial environment. Our people are empowered to make a meaningful impact every day at a local level.

Why should you apply?

Exciting brands: 160 million times a day, someone somewhere chooses a Unilever product. That means you'll be working with a strong portfolio of brands which will give you a chance to make a genuine impact on people's lives.

A real job from day one: Real roles with real responsibilities that provide you with fantastic insight on the organization and require you to continuously test and develop your skills.

Local & international: Reaching more than 190 countries, Unilever is a successful and respected business. We focus on the needs of local consumers by harnessing global expertise and teamwork. For you, that means exceptional exposure and experience.

See the big picture: You'll quickly begin to see how the functions operate closely together. To help you better understand that interaction, you'll often work as part of cross-functional teams.

Great development opportunities: We'll support you every step of the way, with hands on experience which includes functional and cross functional rotations. You’ll also have access to a World class learning program.

Accelerate your leadership potential: The UFLP is designed to help you grow faster than a traditional graduate role. You'll quickly take ownership of real business challenges, develop autonomy from day one, and learn through hands-on experience. By rotating across functions, you'll continuously expand your business understanding, strengthen your leadership capabilities, and build the confidence to become one of Unilever's future leaders.

Our application process involves:

Step 1: Online Application

Complete the online application form. It is a simple and easy application process with the option of filling out your details using your LinkedIn profile. You may apply to one function in your application.

Step 2: Profile Assessment

Complete two stages of profile assessment; a portrait personality test and an online assessment. These are designed to look at different elements of your cognitive, emotional, and social traits. You will receive personalised feedback after completing each stage.

Step 3: Digital Interview:

The digital interview will consist of 3 short questions followed by a business case. You will be asked to solve real-world problems using Unilever scenarios. You’ll be able to record and complete your interview anytime and anywhere.

Recruitment Fraud

Cybercriminals advertise fake job adverts with prestigious employers as a way of stealing information or even defrauding individuals out of money. In the most sophisticated cases, they will set up fake websites, which have a similar address to companies like Unilever. They even conduct fake telephone interviews and then offer candidates a role with the proviso they pay a fee for background checks or to cover work visa costs. These types of attacks are becoming more common as more people are looking for employment in the economic climate.

How is Unilever tackling this?

Many of Unilever’s recruitment sites publish a warning to candidates about recruitment fraud. The Cyber Security team also proactively scans for signs of people setting up fake Unilever sites and acts to close them down.

What can I do?

If you become aware of potential recruitment fraud, spot fake Unilever recruitment adverts or fake LinkedIn profiles, report them via Una Live Chat.

Unilever does not accept responsibility or liability for any candidates who are financially impacted by recruitment fraud. Your vigilance is key!

Unilever is an organisation committed to diversity and inclusion to drive our business results and create a better future every day for our diverse employees, global consumers, partners, and communities. We believe a diverse workforce allows us to match our growth ambitions and drive inclusion across the business. At Unilever we are interested in every individual and the talent they can bring. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment.
